My story

Dallas by way of New York, originally from Memphis.

I grew up in Memphis and studied design at the University of Memphis. In 2012 I was selected for the 4A's Multicultural Advertising Intern Program, which placed me at Ogilvy in New York. The internship became a full-time role within two months, and the presentation work I was doing helped the agency win NASCAR as its first entertainment agency-of-record account.

Two years later, Ogilvy put more than ten creatives in a room to design the system for a new UPS global platform. Mine was chosen. I spent the next stretch expanding it across TV, digital, print, and out-of-home, then onboarding UPS's international markets on how to use it. "United Problem Solvers" won three Effie Awards for effectiveness across the US and UK. Around the same time I art directed NASCAR's "Change" campaign, leading all out-of-home artwork. It won a Gold Clio, and the work was installed in the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

I moved to Dallas and joined The Marketing Arm as a Senior Art Director, leading integrated creative for Doritos, Cheetos, Tostitos, and Topgolf with Associate Creative Director responsibilities. I was directing junior art directors and designing consumer digital products at the same time, and I learned how consumer brands actually move at scale.

Then I stopped making other people's brands for a while and built one.

Makers Gym was a 13,000 square foot creative coworking and production destination in Frisco. I founded it in 2019, spent two years developing the concept and building it out, and opened in March 2021. I created the brand, the customer experience, the marketing engine, the programming, and the partnerships, and I ran the business. At its peak it served more than 325 professional members and over 12,000 recurring customers, with a team of up to 12 and more than $65,000 in monthly revenue. Members and clients included Microsoft, Dude Perfect, and the Dallas Cowboys. It won Best in Show at the IIDA Texas Oklahoma Design Excellence Awards and Frisco Chamber Innovator of the Year.

We closed the Frisco location in December 2025 after four and a half years. Operating costs outpaced what the local market could support at that scale. I would build it again knowing what I know now, and those years taught me more about brand, customers, and business than any brief ever did.

Today, my wife and I are building EndoPantry, a wellness platform for women living with endometriosis, where I own brand, product, and marketing.

What I am looking for now is a team where the creative work is expected to do something. I care about the craft, and I care just as much about whether it moved the business.
